Earthdance
Annually in September
Earthdance is a globe-spanning event that has taken place annually since 1997 in more than 50 countries. The 21st September 2025 is the UN’s International Day of Peace, and Earthdance will unite thousands of people on dancefloors across the planet with the moving track “Prayer for Peace”, played simultaneously at 12pm GMT (1am SA time).
After a year’s hiatus, Earthdance is coming back to its roots in a magical, tribal dance party for Cape Town and the Western Cape. Over three immersive days, Earthdance Cape Town brings together music, dance, and ceremony to foster awareness of humankind’s connectedness and our love for the planet we call home. The event offers a unique space to connect with one another and to take a deep dive into the soul within.
The festival brings together a vibrant mix of the best local DJs, musicians, visual artists, and performers, along with workshops, immersive cinema, and a curated market space featuring healthy food stalls, sustainable vendors, and artisan makers.

Woordfees
Annually in October
After the grey, wet scenes of winter, festivalgoers spend an uplifting few days in Stellenbosch celebrating arts and culture at the Toyota Stellenbosch Woordfees. While the majority of the festival focuses on Afrikaans-language events, there are many English-language events to choose from.

Pangea
Annually in October / November
Started in 2019, Pangea has quickly become a favourite of Cape Town’s music festival scene. The event is held over four days in the Karoo, featuring wild landscapes and nonstop electronic music.
More than just an excuse to dance the weekend away, Pangea also features many workshops, yoga classes, food markets, art, and more. Featuring local and international DJs across eight floors with diverse sounds and styles, the festival takes no sponsors or product placements, focusing instead on the community and the music.
This year, the theme is “Soft Earth”, with lineups and more information to release in the coming months.

Rocking the Daisies

Traditionally the first festival of the season, Rocking the Daisies is South Africa’s biggest music and lifestyle festival, held over 4 days in Darling.
This event is loudly and proudly eco-friendly and features quality entertainment, lifestyle exhibitions and food stations. Attendees have the opportunity to witness the best local and international talent, an incredible main stage and appearances from all the dynamic activations.

Rumours by the Lake is an exhilarating three-day, two-night electronic/techno fusion festival held twice a year. Held at various lake venues since it began, the event has given attendees the perfect party experience, with talented international and local music acts setting the mood for the entire weekend, all set against scenic outdoor views in the Overberg.

Habitat Arcadian Forest is an electronic outdoor music festival featuring genres of afro, indie, techno, and progressive psytrance on a unique voyage tailored for a surreal outdoor experience.
Arcadia is a utopian vision of life. The journey continues this festive season as guests venture deep in the woods of the Matroosberg Nature Reserve in Ceres for the newest edition of the Habitat. Wolfkop Weekender
Annually in January
Wolfkop Weekender is an intimate gathering and music event, a best-kept secret hidden deep along the Olifants River in the heart of the Cederberg. The festival takes place over a weekend on open green grass next to crystal-clear river water, inviting guests to swim, lounge, and canoe.
Wolfkop combines an effortless landscape with beautiful camping grounds, a curated music selection and wholesome food traders for a discerning, music-loving audience. With 3000 guests, five dancefloors and no main stage, the festival takes on the energy of a village, giving festivalgoers the freedom to indulge in a back-to-nature experience.

Milk & Cookies Festival

The global Milk & Cookies Festival is becoming a staple of the Cape Town music scene. Founded in 2009, Milk + Cookies is a premier production and marketing company based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Previous headliners have included Canadian DJ sensation KAYTRANADA, and American rapper Gunna, as well as a host of local talented artists.

Origin

Origin features a full weekend of conscious partying as the techno-shamanic tribes from the cities, towns, fields and forests gather in a valley of breath-taking natural beauty to celebrate life and togetherness.
As one Africa’s brightest shining lights for psychedelic music, art, and culture, Origin strives to promote Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect for all, by strengthening the global community via conscious party ethics and respect for nature.
As always, the line-up promises to host some of the best musical talent South Africa has to offer, plus major international headliners too. Attendees can expect Warm Melodic Techno and Organic Deep House that weaves into an ecstatic eruption of good vibes on the Beats Floor and chill sounds and psychedelic beats on the Origin Floor.

Up the Creek
Annually in February
Up the Creek is the ultimate outdoor music celebration for loyal creekers, new creekers and everyone in between. The second longest-running outdoor music festival in SA, Up the Creek is held on the banks of the magical Breede River, +/-23km outside Swellendam in the Western Cape. Grab your festie-besties and enjoy four days of great music from 50 plus live bands, good food, chilled vibes, short queues and a whole lot of gees.
Attendees can choose to pitch a tent, or book in at one the Heartbreak Motel’s options. There are four general campsite options available, but you need to decide whether you want to camp with your car or not. Suitable for both campers and glampers.

Calabash [CANCELLED]
Annually in February
Calabash South Africa is an annual stadium festival in both Cape Town and Johannesburg, bringing some of the world’s most iconic rock musicians to South African soil. Past headliners have included Green Day, Robbie Williams, Maroon 5, Keane and The Offspring, and line-ups feature a mix of local and international rock talent.
2026 sees multiple award winning British trio Muse headlining, as well as global heavyweights A Day To Remember, Simple Plan, Nothing But Thieves and local favourites Die Heuwels Fantasties taking to the stage.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Muse were forced to pull out of the festival, and thus the 2026 edition of Calabash has been cancelled.

Black Coffee Weekender
Annually in February / March
Experience The Black Coffee Weekender – a premier three-day culture & music festival in Cape Town, curated by Grammy-winning South African DJ and Producer Black Coffee.
The Main Event features international guest DJ, producer and cultural icon Peggy Gou performing exclusively for the first time in South Africa, as well as an iconic set from Black Coffee, plus many artists still to be announced.
The main event takes place on 28 February, with more info on the Friday charity dinner and Sunday brunch afterparty yet to be announced.

Bazique

Bazique is a unique collaboration of 10 like-minded Cape Town party promoters, and hundreds of creatives, musicians, installation artists, performing artists and workshop leaders.
Taking place over three days and three nights Bazique 2026 will feature 6 music stages, 7 international djs, 110 local DJs and a myriad of performance artists, with spectacular site-art installations, large scale stage architecture, pop-up parties, workshops and talks. The Corona Sunsets Festival is a day of food gardens, workshops, artistry, and music.
More than just a music festival, the event features art installations, an opening ceremony , live art murals by Pangeaseed Foundation, eco preservation organisations , wellness experiences, a Corona Cero bar and food gardens.

Cape Town International Jazz Festival
Annually in March
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival, fondly known as “Africa’s Grandest Gathering,” is a world-renowned event held annually in the heart of the Mother City.
Celebrating diverse music styles, it features a stellar lineup of local and international jazz legends, drawing thousands of enthusiasts. The festival spans two days, with multiple stages – indoor and outdoor – hosting unforgettable performances.

Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek

Sexy Groovy Love Golden Hour Season Finale ft. Damian Lazarus
Golden Hour is closing its 2026 season with a special beachfront event at Cabo Beach in Cape Town, headlined by renowned electronic artist Damian Lazarus. The finale promises a sunset-to-night experience combining music, atmosphere, and community.
Damian Lazarus, founder of Crosstown Rebels and creator of major global events, is known for his deep, immersive DJ sets that take audiences on emotional, story-driven journeys.
