Joostenberg Wine Estate in Paarl is ready to welcome all this summer with a range of evening music events, wine tasting and monthly winery walks. Here’s everything you need to know.

The Dance of the Footnote – FULLY BOOKED

Enjoy a relaxing summer evening for a special musical performance. Over the last two years, Philip Myburgh and Jenny Hall have co-composed several songs as part of a musical journey titled ‘The Dance of the footnote’.

Jenny (on guitar, piano and vocals) and her husband James (on violin) will perform the songs that are the fruit of the collaboration between Philip and Jenny.

‘Jenny and James’ are the well-known duo who regularly perform in and around Cape Town. As part of the show, Philip will be telling the story of the songs he has composed with Jenny, a story that spans many decades from his days as a student to the present.

Tuck into fresh, summer supper at The Kraal Restaurant, situated in the shaded, stone-walled courtyard at Joostenberg Wine Estate.

With wooden tables set in between fruit and olive trees next to the farm werf garden and winery, the menu focuses on generous, slow, farm hospitality, local flavours and influences from places the team has travelled to.

Vineyard & Winery Walks

After the walk, linger a little longer with a cheese & salad plate (R170, perfect to share or enjoy as a light lunch), or settle in for a seasonal 3-course lunch at The Kraal Restaurant (R565 pp).

Spend a relaxed, immersive morning exploring the farm with our winemaking team. Expect stories from the vines and cellar, coffee or tea with a pastry on arrival, and a wine tasting to end things off beautifully.

Wine Tasting Valentine’s Date

Visit the farm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday for relaxed tastings, local cheeses and long, unhurried moments at the estate.

And for Valentine’s weekend, spend Valentine’s weekend with your special someone, sipping on fine wine at Joostenberg Wine Estate.

Indulge in a tasting flight of 5 wines at R95 per person, followed by a local cheese & salad platter at R170 per platter – perfect to share or enjoy as a light lunch.

End on a sweet note with a plate of petit fours at R60, served with coffee or tea.
