Simon’s Town Women’s Day Mile Swim
Simon’s Bay Mile is an annual Women Only swim that brings together women young and old to share their love of open water swimming and the ocean. The Simon’s Bay Mile starts and finishes on the beach at Simon’s Town Long Beach. Swimmers start at Long Beach for a 1 Mile / 1609m looped course of Simon’s Bay against the backdrop of mountains and resident South African Navy ships. The kelp forests of Simon’s Bay offer Swimmers possible glimpses of the vibrant marine life.

Zeitz MOCAA Art Workshop
In honour of Women’s Day, Zeitz MOCAA are hosting a joyful morning of art-making, conversation, and Hazendal MCC. In connection with One Must Be Seated by Ghanaian-American artist Rita Mawuena Benissan, guests can explore the themes of the exhibition while unleashing their creativity.
During the workshop, guests can craft their own miniature stool and explore themes of power, belonging, and aspiration in a warm, creative space.

Authority of Softness: A Group Exhibition for Women’s Month
This Women’s Month, AITY Gallery is proud to present Authority of Softness— a group exhibition featuring 13 women artists whose work stands for a new kind of power: playful, spiritual, conceptual, and energetically feminine.
Spanning painting, bronze, fibre, embroidery, clay, and mixed media, these artists explore themes of joy, healing, origin, beauty, and emotional honesty — challenging patriarchal frameworks of art history and authority.

Totalsports Women’s Race
Join a “Sea of Pink” when close to 20 000 runners and walkers come together in solidarity to celebrate National Women’s Day at the iconic Totalsports Women’s Race. Participating athletes have their choice of either tackling a 10km or a 5km run.
Celebrating all women – mothers, daughters, sisters and aunts, the Totalsports Women’s Race launched in the Western Cape in 2001.
