TANG restaurant and bar at V&A Waterfront is giving Capetonians something a little different for Mother’s Day with a spread that’s sure to impress. Famous for their award-winning take on Japanese Izakaya-style dining mixed with elements of classic Cantonese cuisine, the Cape Town restaurant is joining forces with Japanese handcrafted gin label Roku to host a unique Sunday brunch experience.
Moms are welcomed with an elegant pastel pink Lychee Martini before learning the ancient craft of authentic Origami through a guided masterclass. A special Roku Gin experiential bar will be set up at the eatery serving mod cocktails to enjoy throughout the afternoon. End off with a secret fortune cookie for that extra layer of mystery.
Of course your visit isn’t complete without dining on Executive Chef Vixa Kalenga’s a la carte menu of stylishly plated Izakayas (small plates), wok dishes, gourmet sushi, and if you’re feeling extra lavish, slow-roasted Peking Duck packed with flavour. To finish, show-stopping signature dessert plating with chocolate fondant.
Founder Nicky Van Der Walt’s concept restaurant in the V&A Waterfront maintains the same luxurious yet edgy style as its Johannesburg counterpart, with the interior design once again helmed by the award-winning Tristan Du Plessis. However, this time the colour palette has been lightened to complement the restaurant’s ocean-side location. The 700 square meter space is adorned with oak panelling, imported marble, honed travertine, and granite, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
