The V&A Waterfront has shared a curated itinerary for dads across the Mother City, whether they’re the main character, braai aficionados, art snobs, or just love spending quality time. From fine dining with ocean views to innovative escape rooms at HintHunt, there’s a wide range of activities and experiences for the whole family to celebrate Dad with his favourite gifts, hobbies, and places.

To give the fathers in the Mother City what they deserve, the destination is hosting a giveaway competition. To enter, Dad’s favourite must just comment on the related post on the V&A’s Facebook or Instagram with a bit of a biography about their father, what makes them special, and what a perfect Waterfront day would look like.

Middelvlei Wine Estate

Guests can look forward to a three-course, authentic “Boerebraai” family experience in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch at Middelvlei Wine Estate. Cape Town City Ballet: Orpheus in the Underworld

Dads who love theatre and dance can witness Cape Town City Ballet’s return with Orpheus in the Underworld, a new timeless production by South Africa’s most prolific choreographer, Veronica Paeper. Lunch Buffets at Onomo

Each Cape Town outlet of the acclaimed hotel is hosting its very own Father’s Day buffet. The highlight is likely at Onomo Foreshore, where the menu includes grilled line fish, lamb chops, and malva pudding. Father’s Day Dinner & Concert at Kirstenbosch

A Father’s Day concert and dinner held at the MOYO restaurant within Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden features classical saxophonist Josie McClure and pianist Coila-Leah Enderstein for an evening celebration of dads across the Mother City. The ticket price covers entry into the botanical garden via Moyo’s night entrance, the concert, a seated dinner and dessert.

Josie McClure is a Cape Town and Stellenbosch-based classical saxophonist who holds two Master’s degrees, and has performed as a soloist with the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, the Namibian National Symphony Orchestra and the Free State Symphony Orchestra.

Coila-Leah Enderstein is a Cape Town-based pianist and interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans classical performance, live art and real-time composition. She has premiered works by multiple South African composers and has presented performances in South Africa, the Netherlands and Germany.

International Day of Yoga

This year is the 10th anniversary of the International Day of Yoga. To celebrate, yoga communities from across the Mother City are gathering to meet each other, attend classes, and support a good cause.

The day is packed with classes for all ages and skill levels, guided by acclaimed local yogis, including Vanessa Dinkhoff, Usisipho Nteyi, Lakita Scharnick, and many more. Guests are encouraged to meet others from the larger Cape Town yoga community and explore new wellness brands at the dedicated Yoga Market.

Instead of regular tickets, access is granted by donating an amount to the EarthChild Project, with a minimum of R80 and a maximum of R1000 per person. The EarthChild Project is an NPO that offers free education to under-resourced schools, with a focus on health, self-development, and the environment. Archery Adventures

The Constantia Wine Walk is one of the best ways to explore the Cape’s most historic wine precinct. This guided wine tour in Cape Town takes you on a leisurely walk through the lush region of Constantia, famous for its wine farms as well as its impressive views.

This wine tour in Cape Town spans the vines and tasting rooms of three iconic wine farms in the Constantia Valley – Groot Constantia, Klein Constantia and Buitenverwachting.
