Cape Town City Ballet presents a brand new performance, Velvet Feathers – a captivating celebration of ballet at the Norval Foundation for one special weekend in September
Set against the striking backdrop of art, nature and architecture, Velvet Feathers offers a truly memorable ballet experience. Cape Town City Ballet’s exceptional dancers bring iconic moments from Swan Lake and other beloved classics to life in a captivating celebration of the beauty, artistry and emotion of ballet.

An all-new production
Inspired by the iconic Swan Lake and other beloved ballet classics, the performance opens with Act 2 of Swan Lake – transporting audiences into its magical world of white tutus, mesmerising corps de ballet sequences and the unforgettable story of Queen Odette.
From there, the programme unfolds through a selection of famous ballet moments, with the full lineup kept as a delightful surprise. See how many you can recognise as each piece takes the stage.
The experience extends beyond the performance. Guests are welcomed with a glass of Boschendal bubbly and canapés, with opportunities to capture the occasion with the on-site professional photographer.
Tickets also include access to the Norval Foundation Museum and Sculpture Garden, where you can explore acclaimed exhibitions including Brett Murray’s Wild Life and Githan Coopoo’s Tears Now But Heaven Tomorrow, or simply wander among the sculptures and indigenous Cape flora. It’s an elegant afternoon of ballet, art, and discovery.
