Ho, ho, ho! Christmas comes early this year with a magical family-friendly evening under the stars. Cape Mental Health is hosting their very first open-air cinema screening of the festive favourite, How The Grinch Stole Christmas at Curro Century City. Entertainment, fun games, and food and drink are on the cards. Here’s what you need to know.
A Sunday evening picnic under the stars
How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a fun holiday movie about the Grinch, a grumpy green creature who hates Christmas and decides to ruin it for the cheerful Whos in Whoville. He sneaks into their homes on Christmas Eve to steal decorations, gifts, and food. But when the Whos still celebrate with joy despite losing everything, the Grinch realizes Christmas is about more than just stuff.
Pack your own picnic basket or choose from a variety of delicious treats available from the food and drink vendors on-site. On offer are hot chocolate, popcorn, street food, and snacks to add to the cosy atmosphere of this heart-warming evening. Blankets and backrests are available for rent to enhance comfort. Note that taking along your own chairs is not permitted.
Giving back while celebrating the season
More than just a movie night, this event is a chance to support worthy upliftment projects run by Cape Mental Health. All proceeds go towards providing hope and dignity to vulnerable children, youth, and adults with mental disabilities. Bring your loved ones, your festive spirit, and an appetite for fun to this unforgettable night of Christmas cheer.
