Franschhoek Village Christmas Market

Every year, the Franschhoek Village Market hosts a special two-day Christmas Market where locals and hundreds of holidaymakers spend a day under the historic oak trees located in the old church gardens.

Attendees enjoy affordable artisan foods, vintage Franschhoek wines, and handcrafted goodies while basking in the Cape Winelands weather. The market features over 100 hand-picked traders offering a mix of unique arts and crafts, vintage clothing, antiques, and a wide variety of delicatessens, fresh produce, craft beer, and coffee.

Dogs on leashes are allowed, and kids can enjoy the festivities in the dedicated children’s play area.

South Market Constantia

With over two decades of experience, the South Market in Constantia gives a platform to over 200 small businesses, crafters, and artists, with a special focus on handcrafted goods, from ceramics and soap to jewellery and art.

Together with festive décor, music performances, treats, and a sunny outdoor atmosphere, it’s one of the best places to celebrate a truly South African Christmas. Shaded seating areas provide space to relax between browsing, and guests can buy spices, meats, sauces, cheeses, fudge, and sweets.

Every year, South Market contributes a portion of profits to support a local NPO and their cause. This year, the market is financially supporting the Santa Shoebox Project, an initiative which invites people from around the country to make meaningful Christmas gifts for children in need.

Skeppend Christmas Market

A relatively new addition to the festive market calendar, Skeppend Kersmark is an authentically Afrikaans event highlighting the creative and crafting talent of the Winelands and beyond.

At Simonsvlei Wine Estate in Paarl, the scenic vineyard setting and festive décor create a scenic, tranquil backdrop for holiday shopping in the summer. Stalls feature everything from jewellery and décor to clothing and toys, while food vendors serve regional specialities and festive treats.

Rather than a cramped indoor space, Skeppend offers visitors room to browse at their leisure, with a spacious layout and landscaped grounds. Live music and entertainment also add to the welcoming Winelands atmosphere.

For the first time in 2026, West Coast residents can enjoy the full Skeppend experience, with a secondary market at Yzerfontein Community Hall. Expect new vendors, crafters, and a festive vibe in one of Cape Town’s most picturesque towns.

German Christmas Market by Yes! Exclusive Flowers

Yes! Exclusive Flowers hosts a German-inspired Christmas market on the four Saturdays before Christmas weekend at their showroom in Paarden Eiland, bringing snowy European holiday traditions to the Mother City.

The market features original German decorations, treats from a range of vendors, Christmas gifting ideas, and a choice of dried and fresh flowers. Also on offer are German Christmas trees and greens, colourful Christmas wreaths, tasty home-made Christmas cookies, nutcrackers and modern and traditional Christmas decorations.

A family-run market by locals Jenni and her two daughters, Sarah and Emma, the Pinelands Craft & Gift Fair gives visitors a wonderful opportunity to do their Christmas and end-of-year gift shopping in a relaxed environment in one of Cape Town’s leafiest suburbs.

Over 200 crafters, entrepreneurs and artists are carefully selected, selling a mix of jewellery, ceramics, soaps, books, clothing, woodwork, metalwork, delicious treats, fresh fruit and veg, and much more.

Rather than moving slowly from stall to stall, the market uses one central pay point, making it a convenient outing that saves time. Afterwards, visitors can enjoy light bites and coffee at the local coffee shop.
