Re-Loved Fashion Show
The Re-Loved Fashion Show is a pioneering charity event blending sustainable style with heartwarming compassion.
Sponsored by Hils Pet Nutrition and benefitting TEARS Animal Rescue, this unique show is hosted by comedian and radio personality Angel Campey and aims to celebrate the concept of transformation, in fashion and in the lives of rescue animals seeking their forever homes.
Funds are raised through a combination of auctions on selected designer looks, Hill’s food, and a donations drive with pledge options designed to suit all budgets. Guests will be encouraged to make contributions that directly support TEARS’ vital services, with 100% of proceeds from ticket sales going to directly supporting the vital work done by TEARS.
As part of the festivities, TEARS rescue dogs join models on the runway, showcasing the couture creations alongside their irresistible charm. Every dog featured in the show is also available for adoption, following an application process, and guests have the opportunity to meet and interact with the dogs throughout the evening.

Latrice Royale – Terms and Conditions (May Vary)
Legendary RuPaul’s Drag Race icon and fan favourite, Latrice Royale, is set to make a triumphant return to South Africa this November for two dazzling live performances.
This marks the celebrated performer’s first visit to South Africa in 13 years, and fans can expect all the charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent that have made Latrice an international drag superstar, with her acclaimed show: Terms and Conditions May Vary.
Known for her larger-than-life personality, infectious laughter, and powerhouse performances, Latrice first captured hearts on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4, and later on All Stars 1 and All Stars 4. CONFECTIONS x COLLECTIONS
Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town presents ‘CONFECTIONS x COLLECTIONS’ (CxC), the highly anticipated annual celebration of slow African fashion. Set across the hotel’s iconic grounds and curated by sustainability-focused platform, Twyg, CxC welcomes guests to witness an expression of contemporary African luxury. The Mount Nelson has established itself as a hub for cultural innovators, using fashion as a vehicle to create community and cultural connection over the week-long CxC event.
This year’s edition spotlights four visionary designers. Shelley Mokoena of C O N N A D E, recently selected to show at Milan Fashion Week, channels nature, African heritage and architectural form into sculptural womenswear. Trained in Paris, Kenyan designer Anil Padia of Yoshita 1967 draws on his Indo-Kenyan roots to craft intricate, ritual-inspired pieces that celebrate femininity and cultural fusion.
South African designer Luke Radloff of UNI FORM brings a modernist lens to indigenous techniques, from handwoven cottons to knitted mohair, creating modular pieces that honour artisanal traditions while pushing African fashion onto the global stage. Completing the line-up, returning designer Laduma Ngxokolo of MaXhosa Africa – awarded internationally for his vibrant knitwear which translates the symbols, colours, and aesthetics of Xhosa heritage.
A bespoke culinary experience accompanies each presentation, reimagining the hotel’s iconic Afternoon Tea for guests to savour, masterfully crafted by Mount Nelson’s Executive Sous Chef, Vicky Gurovich.

CPO Summer Symphonies
The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra’s summer concert series is set to feature a variety of local and international talents, and highlights pieces both old and new.
The 6 November concert features conductor Arjan Tien and pianist Jan Hugo, taking on the music of Gideon Fagan, Saint-Saëns and Rachmaninov.
The 13 November concert is also conducted by Tien, and features violinist Jack Liebeck playing Vaughan Williams, Saint-Saëns, and Shostakovich.
The 22 November concert celebrates the contributions of conductor Bernhard Gueller, and his specialty in the work of Mahler.
Meanwhile, the 26 November concert, also conducted by Gueller, features pianist Philipp Scheucher performing Beethoven, Mozart and Brahms.

Cape Ballet Africa: Giselle
Giselle remains one of ballet’s most cherished romantic masterpieces, a timeless story that weaves together love, deception, and the redemptive power of forgiveness. This production, choreographed by internationally acclaimed artist Maina Gielgud, brings fresh life to the classic tale with a sumptuous new set and costume design by the celebrated Michael Mitchell.

At the heart of the story is Giselle, a gentle and radiant peasant girl whose joy lies in dance. She falls deeply in love with Albrecht, a nobleman who conceals his true identity by posing as a commoner. When Giselle learns of his betrayal and his betrothal to another, her heart shatters, and she descends into madness, dying of grief. After years of haunting silence, South Africa’s biggest & most iconic Halloween event returns to the streets of Cape Town.
Each year, thousands gather for the Zombie Walk, transforming the city into a thrilling, all-ages, and pet-friendly parade of the undead. Whether you’re crawling, limping, or full-on zombie strutting — you’re part of something special.
The walk supports Lucky Lucy Foundation, which helps abused and neglected animals. There is also an afterparty that takes place after the walk, with paid ticket options that further supports the initiative.

Red Bull Flugtag
Red Bull Flugtag is a global spectacle, that challenges fearless teams to design and launch their homemade flying crafts off a runway—right into the water. The action will unfold across the V&A Waterfront, with all eyes on Jetty 1 as the official launch site. Expect wild designs, epic fails, and big cheers. This is one event you don’t want to miss—arrive early to claim the best viewing spot!
Getting to the V&A Waterfront for Red Bull Flugtag is easy — use public transport, e-hailing, or cycle, as the area will be busier than usual. All roads will remain open, with traffic managed by the V&A and City Traffic teams. Parking is available in all V&A garages, though space is limited, so arrive early.
The event is free and open to the public, with dedicated viewing zones and big screens at Clock Tower, UCB Square, and the Amphitheatre showing live action from Jetty 1. Restaurants, shops, and attractions will trade as usual, and advance bookings are recommended, especially at Harbour House, Quay 4, and Life Grand Café, which offer great views.
The event is family-friendly, with onsite security, medical teams, and lifeguards ensuring safety. Leashed pets are allowed in outdoor areas, but it’s best to leave them at home due to the crowds and noise. Liefde by die Dam
Liefde by die Dam is one of the biggest Afrikaans music festivals taking place annually in South Africa and Namibia.
Every year, thousands sell out the events in Joburg, Cape Town and Windhoek to earn the chance to witness this live celebration of Afrikaans music. The 2024 Cape Town lineup includes Die Heuwels Fantasties, Early B, Francois Van Coke, Riaan Benadé, Dozi, Loufi and more, with comedian Schalk Bezuidenhout as MC.

Rumours by the Lake is an exhilarating three-day, two-night electronic/techno fusion festival held twice a year.
Held at various lake venues since it first began, the event has been giving attendees the perfect party experience as talented international and local music acts set the mood for the entire weekend, accented by a scenic outdoor view.
During the day, attendees are welcome to take a dip in the lake as the performers get the vibes going in the background, then once their done, they can dry up for an evening of non-stop partying.

Wines2Whales
The annual FNB Wine2Whales MTB race features 3 x three day events for the most adventurous of mountain bikers: the Chardonnay, the Pinotage and the Shiraz, aptly named after the wines of the area. It describes itself as “The race with serious gees”.
Teams of two can register for any or all of the races, with the options for meals and tents (from basic to luxury). The category of each team is determined by the age of the youngest rider,
The route is packed with sections that both thrill and torment, with incredible views, new trails, and even a few old favourites. The Chardonnay event takes place from 31 October to 2 November, the Pinotage from 3 to 5 November and the Shiraz from 7 to 9 November. The events are divided into three stages spread between the three-day events, starting with breakfast and ending with awards and dinner on the first two nights, with a prize giving on the final afternoon.

Franschhoek Open Gardens
Garden-lovers are invited to explore a diverse range of 10 gardens in Franschhoek. Each year the Franschhoek Gardens pride themselves in offering a diverse and wide range of gardens that cater for various preferences, from small and large charming village gardens to breathtaking expansive farm gardens.
They have something to suite every taste. The goal is to provide fresh and exciting garden experiences and this year’s festival is no exception. The open tour includes one garden that has never been on display before, five that have not been on display for two years or more and four favourites from last year’s festival.
In addition to the gardens on display attendees can experience a delightful array of attractions including tea and scones, local sourdough breads, captivating talks, plants on sale, champagne and live cellist music.
For an added fee on the second festival day, attendees can catch a talk by garden designer, artist, presenter and plantsman, Leon Kluge on his experiences at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Streetopia
AfrikaBurn, in collaboration with residents and civic organisations based in Observatory, present Streetopia.
Streetopia is an annual event that brings communities and creatives together for a day of colour, creativity and good vibrations, filling the streets with art, sculpture, mutant vehicles, performances, music and market stalls. It’s free, and everyone’s invited.
For one day, attendees experience the streets of Observatory turned into a blank canvas where artists, performers, buskers, residents and kids can enjoy the open spaces. The aim is to keep it villagey, intimate, spontaneous, open to collaboration, and a space for causes and social activism.

The Rondebosch Potters Market is a popular market held twice a year at Rondebosch Park (March and November).

Ruth Ramsden-Karelse is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the University of Toronto’s Queer and Trans Research Lab, where she is completing her first book, ‘Gays and Girls Make Worlds’. Her writing has appeared in publications including GLQ and Gender, Place & Culture.

Clipper Race – Cape Town Stopover
The Clipper 2025-26 Race route will once again feature the South African sailing hotspot of Cape Town as the fleet returns to the V&A Waterfront for the twelfth time.
The V&A Waterfront is a firm favourite on the Clipper Race route. For the Race Crew who will be arriving on the back of a gruelling South Atlantic crossing from South America, they will be delighted to lap up some summer sun and all the culture the vibrant city of Cape Town has to offer.
The Clipper Race is one of the biggest challenges of the natural world and an endurance test like no other. With no previous sailing experience necessary, this is a record breaking 40,000 nautical mile race around the world on a 70-foot ocean racing yacht. Normally the domain of seasoned pros, this supreme challenge is taken on by ordinary, everyday people.
Once the fleet of ten ocean racing yachts is docked, visitors can head down to the marina to meet the exceptional people taking on this adventure of a lifetime.
