This year, celebrate Halloween a little differently with The Galileo Open Air Cinema’s movie night in Cape Town. The concept outdoor cinema is back after their winter break and promises a night of terror under the stars. Gather your friends, family or colleagues for this fun and vibey night out. The movie screening is restricted to an audience of 16yrs and older.
What to expect on Halloween movie night?
On Tuesday, 31 October 2023, the normally quiet and always beautiful Kirstenbosch Garden undergoes a spine-chilling transformation with eerie décor, lively music, and a spooktacular atmosphere. The Galileo’s special Halloween-themed screening.
Gates will creak open at 6pm sharp and allow guests an hour and a half to enjoy the pre-movie thrills such as enchanting entertainment and eerie decor. Browse and snack from on-site food stalls boasting an array of gourmet goodness from delicious juicy burgers, pizzas, shawarmas and of course, popcorn. To keep those spirits high, head to the barista and bar stalls for fresh brews, soft drinks and Cape wines.
Dress up in your own Halloween-inspired costume to scare and enjoy a fun night of terror under the stars. There are lots of tricks ‘n treats on offer and prizes are handed out for the scariest and best-dressed costumes. Add vibey music, Halloween-themed decór and entertainment, roaming photo booths and games to the mix and you have the perfect night out for all.
What’s showing on The Galileo’s Halloween movie night?
The Galileo is hosting a special screening of the unforgettable film, Scream. This 1996 American teen slasher film is ranked as one of the best horror movies of all time. David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich and Drew Barrymore star in the dark comedy tale of a masked psycho called Ghostface terrorising a small town, picking off high school students one by one. The only way to survive is to know your horror movie trivia.
