Norval Foundation is partnering with luxury fashion house Kat van Duinen for the second iteration of their annual fashion showcase. ‘An Ode to Africa’ celebrates the richness of African materials and heritage through high fashion, with a special focus on sustainable practices.
This year’s event promises an immersive journey into African luxury, featuring mohair, merino wool, ostrich feathers, and exotic leather skins, all showcased in Kat van Duinen’s exceptional designs. Here’s what you can look forward to.

What to expect at the NFxKvD fashion show
The Norval Foundation x Kat van Duinen annual fashion show is held at the prestigious Norval Foundation, a leading museum in Cape Town known for its dedication to contemporary African art. The fashion show serves as a tribute to African creativity and craftsmanship.
Alongside Kat van Duinen’s exclusive collection, attendees will experience a unique performance by the Cape Town City Ballet, blending classical ballet with contemporary interpretations that reflect South Africa’s rich and evolving culture.
Food and drink can be ordered from renowned chef Matt Manning’s Grub & Vine eatery which is housed at the museum. Here you can expect a playful, flavour-driven selection of starters, mains and desserts crafted by one of Cape Town’s top chefs.
Supported by Mohair SA, Nicolas Feuillatte, and Grub & Vine, this event highlights the collaboration between fashion, art, and culture. Caroline Greyling, Norval Foundation’s Museum Director, shares, “This partnership underscores our mission to promote African culture and creativity, integrating the art of fashion into our broader vision of cultural celebration.”

A mesmerising fusion of classical and contemporary dance
As part of the upcoming showcase, guests will be treated to a live performance by the Cape Town City Ballet, offering a captivating blend of classical ballet and modern interpretations.
