School holidays can be tough on parents, but fear not! The Easter holidays are short and there is plenty to do to keep your kids entertained. From chocolate-making workshops to rock climbing, escape rooms, adventure parks and more, your children can have their pick of delightful ways to keep busy.

Parents need not feel left out either, as many of these activities have options for the adults to enjoy whilst the children play to their heart’s content.

Honest Chocolate Bonbon Workshop: Discover how your favourite Easter treats are made

If you’ve ever wondered about the magic of chocolate making, then this is for you! This activity offers a full tasting and introduction to how cacao beans are farmed and processed as well as a demonstration of how an ethical bean-to-bar chocolate is made.

Guests are also taught to dip, decorate and wrap their own set of four bonbons to take home. The activity is vegan and child-friendly.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema is a company that shows movies in a variety of beautiful locations, all over Cape Town. The lineup over the Easter school holidays is focused on kids’ movies, animations and family-friendly classics. Catch The NeverEnding Story on Wednesday 20th March, the musical Pitch Perfect on Friday 22nd, Peter Rabbit on Friday 29th, and many others.

Locations include numerous gorgeous wine farms in and around Cape Town, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, the V & A Waterfront Battery Park, and others. Parents (and adults in general) will enjoy one of these special nights out, too.

HintHunt offers a variety of game options to keep the children entertained and encourage their problem-solving skills. And in addition to their staple Escape Rooms, HintHunt also offer an Amazing Race, Mobile Escape Games, Online Escape Games and Outdoor Escape Games.

The Escape Room games are designed to put the mind to the test as participants work together as a group to find hidden clues, solve tricky riddles and unlock mysterious puzzles – all with a time limit of 60-75 minutes to escape. Playalot: Indoor Adventure Park for all ages

And to work your way through the various pirate challenges that you will encounter on your way. The Pirate Adventure Golf Course at Benguela Cove is available for kids’ birthday parties, team-building events, schools or families looking for fun activities to spend an afternoon in the Winelands. The space is fully licensed, and food and light snacks can be ordered.

This adventure golf venue does not offer child supervision, but parents and supervising adults are welcome to join and supervise as spectators. Babies enter FREE.

Ipic Play: A climbing adventure for the kids

At Ipic Play, children between the ages of 0 to 2 years can enjoy a digital art room and see their drawings come to life. They also get to enjoy a play area called Toddler Town and a mini slide.

For the 3- to 12-year-olds, features include climbing walls, a gladiator pit, tunnels and slides, high ropes course, jumping zones, and more. Teenagers and older can enjoy even more obstacle courses.
