A BUMPER GAMES AND ACTIVITY LINE-UP FOR THE LITTLE ONES
This Easter weekend, the expansive gardens at Mount Nelson are open for kids to go down the rabbit hole and take up a wonderful lineup of fun and unique play sessions and activities. All sessions are supervised.
Younger kids can try and find some of the many Easter egg surprises that are hidden in the garden area for take home. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

A CHILD-FRIENDLY HIGH TEA WITH CAKES AND CONFECTIONERY
High tea at Mount Nelson hotel is a classic Cape Town institution. After all, who can say no to a sumptuous selection of sumptuous cakes, pastries, and sandwiches served at one of the city’s iconic destinations?
Their high tea celebrates a wide range of teas, curated by their tea sommelier, Craig Cupido while celebrated pâtissier, Vicky Gurovich packs a range flavours into the finger sandwiches and snacks.
For Easter, the hotel is doing a special basket alongside the usual high tea filled with homemade Hot Cross Buns, freshly baked Madeleines flavoured with spiced honey, and classic scones served with fresh cream and jam. Booking is essential for high tea and there are two seating times.

A GARDEN PICNIC WITH EVERYTHING TAKEN CARE OF
Take in the last few balmy days of summer with a garden picnic experience. The team takes all the hassle out of planning while setting up your spot elegantly with a picnic blanket, pillows, and baskets already set up on your spot, ready for you to arrive, sit back, and unwind.
Dine on from a variety of treats including a charcuterie selection, chicken liver parfait, locally-made cheese with preserves, strawberries and cream petit fours, and more. And for an Easter feel, Hot Cross Buns are added to your basket.
Kiddos get their own picnic basket packed with easygoing treats such as chicken mayo crepes, cucumber and carrot sticks with hummus, and roast beef sandwiches among others to keep the energy going. Sweets come in the form of caramel popcorn, strawberry chocolate s’mores, speckled eggs, and much more.

A JAZZY SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS
Mount Nelson’s Jazzy Sunday Brunch continues to build up a rep for its buffet offering with an elegant edge. Table service will give you a run-down of what’s on offer while a live jazz band carries you into a carefree Sunday mood. Start off with a glass of welcoming bubbly and oysters before browsing the salad, sushi, charcuterie, and mezze to make your own gourmet platter. For mains, take your pick from the hearty curries and casseroles or make a beeline for the freshly roasted carvery options.
Those with a sweet tooth will love what’s on the cards for desserts. The classics are covered with mille-feuille, granadilla pavlova, and chocolate mousse to name a few.
And they’ve added a hot cross bread and butter pudding. Oh, and did we mention they’ve got a dedicated station for crepes, waffles, or comforting flapjacks? The menu also offers an option for unlimited bubbly to keep the weekend feels flowing. This is one that you definitely have to book in advance.
