Stir Crazy Cooking School

Get into the kitchen and have some fun this November, with a full lineup of events at Stir Crazy.

Stir Crazy Cooking School, located at the V&A Waterfront, offers a range of single-session interactive social cooking classes, focused training courses for both amateurs and professionals, themed events and team bonding or year-end function events. This November, they have a full schedule of events and classes to enjoy.

Private and Corporate events:

Masterchef Team Building
Teams can take part in a relaxed cooking experience, or else battle it out for the title of Masterchef

Masterchef Braaimeester
A chance to learn how to braai as well as compete against others for the title of Braaimeester

Corporate and private events
The Cooking Theatre is the perfect place to be entertained by the Stir Crazy chefs for any special event

Plating & Presentation – Fri, 4 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
For people who want to learn some trade tricks for plating and presenting their dishes

Kid’s Cooking – Sat, 5 Nov and 19 Nov from 9am to 11am
Children learn the basics of cooking

Date Night – Sat, 5 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A hot idea for date night, this experience allows couples to cook together

Pasta & Sauces – Mon, 7 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A class dedicated to learning how to create famous Italian dishes

Moroccan Magic – Tues, 8 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Participants learn how to cook authentic Moroccan dishes

Authentic Italian Cooking – Wed, 9 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Participants learn how to create Italian favourites like pasta sauces, home-made gnocchi and Arancini

Simply Sushi – Thurs, 10 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Covering the basics of making sushi in one session

Dim Sum – Fri, 11 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Participants learn how to make this staple of Chinese dining

Teens Cooking – Sat, 12 Nov from 9am to 11am
This one is especially for teenagers to learn the basics of cooking

Plant-Based Cooking – Mon, 14 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A course focuses on plant-based meals for every day

From Zero to Pizza Hero – Tues, 15 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Participants learn how to make their own Italian-inspired pizza at home

Travelling Thailand – Tues, 15 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A cooking experience focusing on dishes from around Thailand

International Street Food – Wed, 16 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
With a focus on creating street food from around the world

South African Cooking Safari – Thurs, 17 Nov from 9am to 12pm
A chance to learn how to prepare South African food, including dishes from African, traditional Afrikaans and Cape Malay cuisines

Asian Fusion – Thurs, 17 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A class that combines flavours from South-East Asia with those from the West

Ladies’ Night – Sat, 19 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A monthly event for the ladies to get together and create something spicy

Chef’s Dinner – Fri, 18 Nov from 6pm
A social occasion where participants get to watch superyacht chefs plate a meal

Basic Cooking Skills – Mon 21 and Tues 22 Nov from 9am to 4pm
For beginners or those who need basic knowledge, this class is spread over two days

Cape Malay Cooking – Mon, 21 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A chance to learn how to create Masalas, fold Samoosas, and balance the flavours of Cape Malay curries

¡Ola Mexico! – Mon, 21 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A chance to learn how to create Mexican favourites such as fresh tortillas, tacos, nachos and more

Deliciously Vegan! – Tues, 22 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A class specifically dedicated to vegan cooking

Mastering Meats – Wed, 23 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
A chance to learn how to prepare and cook a range of meats

Mastering Seafood – Thurs, 24 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
The fundamentals of preparing seafood

Gourmet Burgers – Fri, 25 Nov from 6pm to 9.30pm
Participants learn all the secrets to creating the perfect burgers

Cooking for a Cause – Sat, 26 Nov from 9am to 11am
In this one, learn how to create new recipes while also helping to feed communities that are struggling to feed themselves

Knife Skills & Kitchen Hacks
The basics of sharpening and managing knives rounded off with a chance to complete recipes using those new skills

Intermediate Cooking Skills
A chance to take those cooking skills to the next level

Artisan bread-making course
Participants create a selection of artisan bread from around the world

Baking & Pastry
A short course where participants are introduced to general baking and pastries over two mornings

Barista Course
Participants learn how to create a selection of coffee beverages for customers

Food Safety Level 3
A qualification course for learners who wish to advance in the catering business
