For over 25 years, Dirtopia has been at the heart of Stellenbosch’s off-road adventure scene – crafting unforgettable trail experiences for nature lovers and thrill-seekers alike.

Based at the historic Muratie Wine Estate, the Dirtopia Trail Centre invites you to explore a spectacular network of marked singletrack routes, each one designed to immerse you in the beauty of the region.

These iconic trails were created by legendary trail designer Meurant Botha, whose flowing singletrack continues to delight hikers, runners, and mountain bikers to this day. His legacy lives on, with Dirtopia continuing to deliver exceptional outdoor experiences that celebrate his vision and passion for the trails.

From energising monthly trail runs to magical Sunset to Full Moon Hikes, scenic Wine Walks, and relaxed social rides, there’s always something happening on the trails. Here are the must-attend autumn events to add to your calendar:

Harvest Trail Run Presented By Sportsman’s Warehouse

Harvest season may be wrapping up in the Winelands, but the celebration is just getting started. Hit the trails and run through sun-drenched vineyards and winding singletrack in the breathtaking Knorhoek Valley, as you toast the 2026 winemaking season in true outdoor style.

Whether you’re chasing a challenge or a fun day out, choose between a scenic 11km or 6km route, both kicking off from 08:00. Along the way, enjoy well-stocked water points, and at the finish, expect a vibrant atmosphere with great food, refreshing drinks, kids’ entertainment, and plenty of reasons to linger a little longer.

With medals, prizes, lucky draws, optional timing, plus running shoe testing and cleaning on offer, it’s more than just a run – it’s a full-on Winelands experience.

Your morning begins with a refreshing mimosa on arrival, followed by four curated tastings enjoyed among the vines, making every step a celebration of flavour, scenery, and heritage.

Full Moon Hike

Follow a self-guided, clearly marked 3.5km circular route at your own pace – stopping at a picturesque lookout where you can sip on a glass (or bottle) of wine as the sky transforms from sunset hues to moonlit magic.
