Dance Intersect 2025 Brings A Cross-Cultural Dance Experience to Cape Town this October

The Cape Town dance scene is set to light up this October with Dance Intersect 2025, held at the Artscape Theatre. A production presented by Anderson Carvalho Dance and Choreography (ACDC), in collaboration with Elvis Sibeko Studios and Artscape, Dance Intersect promises dance performances across styles and form, to bring a melting pot of culture and identity. What to Expect from Dance Intersect 2025

Dance Intersect is proud to bring together a vibrant mix of international and South African dance choreographers, creating a showcase of both established icons and emerging voices in the world of dance. The event is more than a performance, it’s a celebration of movement, identity, and global collaboration between dance powerhouses.

The program opens with the world premiere of Fragmented Landscape, a co-production between Anderson Carvalho Dance and Choreography (ACDC) and Dutch company DOX, performed by dancers from South Africa and abroad under the visionary choreography of Brazilian Dutch choreographer Anderson Carvalho.

Other featured performances throughout each night include a special debut performance by the Greek National Opera Ballet, a showcase by Cape Town’s New World Dance Theatre, and a brand-new choreographic work by guest choreographers Chesney Stanfield and Emile Petersen.

The famous Les Nuits d’été cycle is one of Hector Berlioz’ most popular works. The leading French composer writes these six songs for voice and piano, to poetry by Théophile Gautier, striving to musically render, through his delicate melodies, love in its most idealised form.

Based on the song cycle of the same title, Konstantinos Rigos creates, together with the GNO Ballet, a work about love, loneliness, the quest, the journey. Gestures and shapes create a kaleidoscope of our individual inner summer.
