Cape Town Fashion Week 2024 features a star-studded lineup of iconic designers like Gavin Rajah, alongside emerging talents such as Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba, Bathini Kowane, and Sello Medupe.

Visiting designers from abroad include Alia Baré, Helene Daba, and Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud who will showcase their innovative creations, elevating the event to a global standard.

1. A stellar lineup of South Africa’s fashion icons and rising talent

The designer lineup features a curated selection of established icons and emerging talent, demonstrating the vibrancy and diversity of African fashion. Headlining the event is Gavin Rajah, a globally celebrated designer of his namesake label.

Also on the programme are South African names like Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba of Malondié, Bathini Kowane of Bathini Designs, Sello Medupe of Scalo, Craig Jacobs of FUNDUDZI, Craig Port, Sandi Mazibuko of House of FabroSanz, and Cape Town-based Julia Buchanan. The event will showcase the final collections of the AFI Fastrack Prize 2023 finalists, a roundup of the future stars of African fashion.

2. Pan-African fashion designers on the Cape Town runway

From across the continent, acclaimed Pan-African designers such as Alia Baré from Niger, Hélène Daba of Sisters of Afrika from Senegal, Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud of Laurence Airline from Côte d’Ivoire, Safiétou Seck of Sarayaa (Senegal, )and Papy Kaluw of Urban Zulu from the Democratic Republic of Congo will bring their unique visions to the runway, cementing Cape Town’s status as a hub for international fashion.
