Red Bull Unlocked: Cape Town’s Biggest DJs & Party Venues Under One Roof

One of the biggest live events to kick-start the spring season, Red Bull Unlocked brings together 70+ of the city’s most sought-after DJs, artists, and late-night venues for one night of dancing, singing, and connecting.

With stages catering to each of Cape Town’s beloved genres, from hip hop to amapiano and gqom, there’s something for everyone who wants to let loose after a long winter. Here’s everything the Mother City needs to know.

Rather than force the city’s after-dark partygoers to chase the perfect night by going from venue to venue while paying for multiple rides and entrance fees, Red Bull Unlocked brings all the biggest names and places under one roof.

Each stage has its own vibe, whether it’s hip hop, amapiano, house, electronic, gqom, or beloved sing-alongs, making it easy to move rhythmically between each set. The announced lineup includes crowd favourites like Yaadt Paati, Vinyl Digz, Blaqkongo, and resident DJs from the city’s biggest nightclubs.

There are even more of Cape Town’s favourite dance floors this year, with Broke, Fools Gold Social Bar, Souk, Destiny, and Drama all returning to host their own stages, with newcomers Texas, HALO, Beluga, Club Paradise and The Athletics Club & Social joining the party too. Regular attendees of any (or all) of these after-dark staples get to enjoy their usual niche in an even more diverse party setup.

As always, Red Bull Unlocked’s main stage’s all-star setlist is stacked with some of the Mother City’s biggest musical talents. 5 FM’s mashup king DJ PH is joined by rapper A-Reece, award-winning artist Dee Koala, Johannesburg producer DJ Sliqe, Amapiano favourite Ca Ma Gu, Oscar Mbo, Chelsea Sloan, and Doperoom founder Dwson. Other highlights include Teddy Tumi, Jullian Gomes, Babalwa M, Tristan Urwin, DJ Phil, Enrico Celento, Inkosi YaMandebele, Les-D and more.

Taking place at Makers Landing, the V&A’s vibrant and spacious craft market, attendees can expect many of their playlist staples performing from the afternoon to well past midnight in an event that connects the city’s various subgenres for one massive night out.
