Every year, Vintage with Love hosts their much-loved Big Sale, bringing together tons of donated clothing from across the Mother City and inviting shoppers to browse and buy, with profits going to empowering South Africa’s youth. This year, Vintage with Love is going even bigger, with a brand-new flagship fashion showcase, The Big Show, celebrating South African style and sustainability and highlighting local talent in the industry.
With two huge events spread across 10 days, The Big Week 2026 promises to close out August with, in their words, “Cape Town’s most meaningful week in sustainable fashion”. Here’s everything shoppers, donors, volunteers, partners, and stylists need to know.

The Big Sale
Vintage with Love’s most beloved event, The Big Sale, is all about giving secondhand clothing a second chance while supporting literacy and education initiatives across South Africa. From pre-loved streetwear to luxury designer pieces, attendees buy from a huge variety of styles and brands, with thousands of items on sale each year.
The focus is on gently worn fashion, ensuring shoppers get high-quality goods for however much they spend. As with all thrifting experiences, the fun is in finding underrated gems that others overlook, whether it’s a bold statement piece or the final accessory to completing the look. Guests can expect sought-after dresses, jackets, shirts, handbags, shoes, jewellery, and more.
Most importantly, since each piece on sale was donated by individuals from across the country, every purchase keeps unnecessary waste from ending up in landfills and extends the lifespan of textiles and materials, countering the ecological impact of the fast fashion craze. Shoppers can also rest assured knowing their hard-earned money is helping support kids in need across the country.

The Big Show
Created in partnership with Bridget Pickering, the mind behind locally made and female-designed fashion brand Ruff Tung, The Big Show looks to give young designers and up-and-coming professionals the chance to showcase their talents, while simultaneously providing a platform for important discussions in and around South African fashion and the industry.
Set at refined seafood dining spot Beluga, guests can expect an evening filled with live entertainment, a charity auction, and a real runway fashion show. Each ticket includes entry to the event, renowned Beluga dishes, and a welcome drink. More information about Vintage with Love’s Big Week is available on the website.

A Good Cause
Vintage with Love supports many charities operating throughout South Africa.
Read to Rise is an NPO that donates high-quality books and installs mini-libraries in classrooms of underprivileged children to promote youth literacy. Home from Home provides community-based foster care for vulnerable children who cannot stay with their biological families. Little Artists runs various programmes meant to develop and encourage young artists and creatives, often providing funding so they can attend university or college. Realema provides comprehensive bursaries for talented students of colour to study for a degree in education and intern at top schools around South Africa.
Each ticket sold and item bought at Vintage With Love’s Big Week goes to supporting these, and many other, organisations and charities and their mission of nurturing the nation’s next generation.
