Those with a keen interest in diving and marine tourism should look no further than the Conscious Dive Career Development Internship hosted by the Two Oceans Aquarium. The programme is a full-time, structured journey for anyone who wants to build the confidence, practical ability, and discipline needed to work in the dive industry. 

Designed with beginners in mind, this internship takes participants from entry-level observers to professional-level divers and guides. Interns gain advanced dive training, hands-on experience at the Aquarium, and exposure to various departments and operations that are key to working in the industry – all in one integrated, cohesive package.

Students begin with a month-long immersion in the Aquarium’s Curatorial department, slowly build confidence in the water with the necessary equipment, and finally enter the PADI Divemaster course. After eight months, those wanting to become full-on diving instructors complete a further four months of training and teaching practice, totalling one year of learning.

Beyond diving lessons, the Conscious Dive Career Development Internship provides a structured, professional environment that facilitates hands-on mentoring and offers a career-focused pathway into the diving industry.

The internship is available to anyone over 18 with a valid driver’s license who is passionate about diving, the ocean, and its conservation. Interested candidates must be willing to commit to full-time work and be comfortable working in a public-facing environment.
