Hosted by expert Matthew Sterne, the tour promises incredible views and insightful stories about Cape Town’s history and legends, as well as an e-scooter ride and a marvellous beach picnic. The Mountain-to-Sea Adventure
The Mountain-to-Sea Adventure tour starts at the stunning Signal Hill, surrounded by the vibrant local fynbos. From there, guests will embark on a scenic walk through Glen Forest and Maiden’s Cove, eventually reaching Clifton, where they’ll hop on an Electrek e-scooter to glide along the famous Sea Point Promenade. This route offers breathtaking views of Table Mountain, the 12 Apostles, Clifton, and Camps Bay.
As you journey, you’ll enjoy a beachside picnic featuring delicious local samosas, refreshing mimosas, a fresh fruit platter, and some of the best cheeses the Western Cape has to offer. Along the way, host Matthew Sterne will share fascinating stories about Cape Town’s past and present, bringing to life the legends and icons that helped shape the city we know today.

More about your host, Matthew Sterne
Matthew Sterne is a travel writer, world traveller, walking guide and author from Cape Town. During his twenties, he spent seven years exploring the globe, working in an ice cream factory in Norway, a turtle sanctuary in Nicaragua and a camel safari in India along the way. He wrote a book about his travels called Sterne Journeys, which captured the spirit of his wanders.
Upon returning to Cape Town, Matthew worked as a writer at a leading safari company where he won an SA Blog Award and SA Travel Blog Award for his writing. He subsequently joined Getaway Magazine, South Arica’s oldest and most established travel magazine. As a photojournalist, he explored South Africa, Africa and beyond -climbing Kilimanjaro, visiting the Komodo dragons and hiking many of the major peaks and trails in Southern Africa.
Drawn to the fascinating stories of Cape Town, Matthew launched a collection of walking tours in 2022 called Natural Wanders. He has three walks in this collection, with the Constantia Wine Walk recently winning Silver at the World Wine Awards for South Africa’s Most Innovative Wine Tourism Experience.
