R&B Superstar Miguel is Coming To Cape Town in 2027

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter, producer, and actor Miguel is making his way to the Mother City in May 2027, bringing a hit parade to Grand Arena, GrandWest.

Starting his career at 13, the singer has been at the forefront of alternative R&B and funk for almost two decades, rising to prominence after his first two albums gained critical and commercial success early in his career. Since then, he has experimented with new sounds and collaborators, becoming a highly acclaimed vocalist and guitarist in the scene. Here’s everything fans need to know.

Miguel’s first album, All I Want Is You, was a sleeper hit on release in 2010, with the single Sure Thing going viral on TikTok in 2023 and amassing over 2 billion streams on Spotify. Another track, All I Want Is You featuring J. Cole, was another successful track from the LP. His sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream, was released to more acclaim from audiences and critics, with the single Adorn winning Best R&B Song in at the 2013 Grammy Awards.

The singer then started his experimental era, bringing in more rock and psychedelic influences to his brand of alternative R&B. His track with Travis Scott, Sky Walker came at the time of the rapper’s astronomic rise around 2018, with the song tracking over 750 million streams. In the same year, Miguel was nominated for Best R&B Artist at the Grammy Awards.

The Cape Town show comes off the back of CAOS, Miguel’s latest studio album with songs including Perderme, Ride 4 U, and Always Time. On the night, fans can expect to hear a mix of new tracks and Miguel throwback classics like Girl With The Tattoo Enter, Adorn, and Sure Thing.

The show is organised by Vertex Events, a veteran of the events industry that has brought stars like Ne-Yo and Kenny Lattimore to the Mother City in recent years.
