Cape Open Air returns to celebrate the start of summer, with Bongeziwe Mabandla and Jeremy Loops headlining the outdoor music shows in the Deep South in 2026.
Here’s everything listeners need to know.

More about Cape Open Air
Cape Town loves few things about summer more than an outdoor concert by the sea, and that’s exactly what Cape Open Air is all about. As usual, Jeremy Loops leads the lineup, making his annual hometown return this December.
One of the most famous South African musicians of his generation, Jeremy Loops’ debut album saw him immediately rise to local stardom, with tracks like Down South (feat. Motheo Moleko) and Higher Stakes becoming national radio hits. He hasn’t slowed down since, with his recent albums racking up millions of streams, touring worldwide, and winning at the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).
He is joined for the first time by Johannesburg-born soul singer Bongeziwe Mabandla. Growing up in the rural Eastern Cape, Bongeziwe started singing in his local church. Many years and a couple of SAMA nominations later, the musician is keeping to his traditional roots while performing new material and old hits. From songs like Ndokulandela and Ndibuyile that kickstarted his career, to new tracks like Zama and Yalwa, Mabandla has carved out his own style in the South African soundscape.
At Cape Open Air, guests can expect the sounds of the ocean, picnic blankets filled with snacks, and live music filling the air as they enjoy a true summer’s day out in Muizenberg. More artist announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
