This forms part of Fairmont’s newly expanded Global Bar Program, where select Fairmont properties worldwide—including the Cape Grace and Savoy in London — host exclusive Paloma-inspired activations, connecting guests across continents through the shared joy of mixology and inspired hospitality. Limited-edition cocktails for World Paloma Day
The mixology team at Bascule Bar curated two special cocktails in partnership with the folks at PATRON to celebrate World Paloma Day with a South African twist. You can order the classic Paloma, which is a breezy mix of PATRON’s Reposado Tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, and a dash of syrup.
There’s also a Protea Pineapple Paloma that comes infused with the fragrant essence of South Africa’s protea flower and the tropical sweetness of pineapple. This exclusive creation pays tribute to the Cape while embracing Paloma’s traditional roots. The cocktails are available for order from 22 to 25 May 2025.

One of the city’s most cherished intimate haunts for meeting up with friends or business associates, this cocktail bar in Cape Town has undergone a sophisticated transformation on every level with fresh, inspired elements now enhancing Bascule’s storied charm.
For food and drink, you can now try a small plate menu and cocktails inspired by veld, mountain and sea such as the Linefish Ceviche served with pomelo, pickled daikon and ponzu, and the Tide is High, shaken up with Jorgensen’s Vodka, lychee, salted lime sorbet, Graham Beck Brut and finished off with gold.
