The Blend was started by foodies at heart, Benita and Chantal, and is located at 46 Voortrekker Road in the quaint and charismatic town of McGregor. They’re also available online at theblend.co.za
WINE BOUTIQUE
The Wine Shop is carefully curated by Benita, whose passion and knowledge centres around wine. They not only support locally produced wines but also bring in a variety of interesting varietals and support smaller wine producers from all over the Western Cape. Their prices are cellar door prices and visitors can even enjoy a bottle of their choice in The Blend’s lovely garden seating. Visitors can also enjoy a selection of craft beer, whiskey, brandy, gins and other spirits.
THE DELI
The passion for supporting local and small businesses is carried through to their deli offerings. They offer fresh produce delivered weekly for convenience and source unusual products to meet the needs of their local clients and visitors.
The deli stocks cured meat from Montagu suppliers, whose products are of the highest quality and packed with flavour. Visitors can also get cuts of fresh meats and an array of other free-range products.
From locally made frozen ready meals and stoneground pizza’s, The Blend caters to visitors looking for an easy and hearty meal. Their Italian section has pastas of all kinds and sauces to complement them. They’ve even got a range of Asian flavours.
The deli caters to gluten-free and vegan customers and they sell some locally produced sheep’s yoghurt and cheese.
COFFEE SHOP
The Blend prides itself on making its own pastries and cakes and also offers light lunches and an all-day breakfast. Their carrot cake is by far the best in the valley and a must-try for those who have a sweet tooth. Also on the menu are cheesecake, chocolate brownies and more fresh daily bakes.
The coffee shop stocks Truth Coffee for sit-down and takeaway. Coffee beans are also available to buy.
EVENTS
They do accommodate private functions and offer a complimentary wine tasting every month presented by the wine makers themselves.
