Courtyard 53 is one of those hidden gem spots in Cape Town that you’ll wish you knew about earlier. A tranquil garden courtyard nestled in the heart of Plumstead that is home to shops, a nursery and garden café. A lovely spot to catch up with friends or enjoy an outdoor, relaxing shopping experience at one of the surrounding shops or monthly market.
Join us at the beautiful Courtyard 53 on Saturday 10th Dec for a market under the trees, featuring delicious food vendors and local artisans. Its the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping and enjoy a tranquil Saturday.
At the centre of the courtyard is High Tea, the quaint tea and cake shop, where, as the name suggests, you can enjoy a high tea, simple cake and coffee or even a light lunch. Their baristas are trained to provide patrons with the finest Camissa coffees or a pot of uniquely flavoured and exotic teas. And, nothing goes better with a good cuppa than one of their individual petite cakes in a range of flavours or one of their pastries and confectioneries. Their idea is to provide an escape from the overwhelming hurriedness of the outside, somewhere you can slow down, enjoy something special while sitting under a canopy of trees with the sun rays peeping through and listen to the lulling sound of the water fountains.
Adding to the already lusciously green courtyard is Elderflower Nursery- a Boutique, family run, nursery focussing on favourites both old and new. With plants that include antique perennials, bonsais, succulents and a range of unique indoor and outdoor plants, they are always looking for something interesting to add to their selection including gardening gifts.
Besides wanting to offer you something pretty or exciting to add to your garden, they also want you to get involved in creating something unique and beautiful with their workshops. Bonsai workshops, Wreath workshops and Terrarium workshops are just the start. So if you are looking for something to add that pop of colour or excitement to your garden or you want to try something new but aren’t sure what, have a look at what Elderflower Nursery has to offer.
Adding to the colour of the courtyard are all the beautiful and unique figurines, paintings and sculptures that R-unique have to offer.
