Burn Out Bizarre Fashion Markets: Shop here For Afrikaburn Essentials

Burn Out Bizarre’s fashion markets, taking place over multiple dates in March, April, and May, are the perfect place for Capetonians to gear up for Afrikaburn. Skip the mall and instead support local creators while shopping for unique festival outfits, accessories, and gear.

The markets offer a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere where you can connect with fellow festival-goers and discover one-of-a-kind pieces for your Afrikaburn experience.

In addition to the shopping fun, the markets are also collecting donations for the Peace Dragon, an art installation that will be featured at Afrikaburn. It’s a great way to contribute to the art and creativity that makes the festival so special. Don’t miss this chance to shop, support local talent, and be a part of something meaningful!

Shop and Party with Burn Out Bizarre

Discover sustainable fashion and festival options at the Burn Out Bizarre market, as well as other camping essentials for radical self-reliance. Front row seats await at the Bizarre Fashion Show, offering live bidding on one-of-a-kind creations from South Africa’s finest festival designers.

The two fashion-focused events host a market, a live fashion show and auction. Meanwhile, the practical and thrift events have a market portion, followed by an after-party.

22 March and 19 April see the fashion of Afrikaburn take a centre stage, while 5 April helps Afrikaburn attendees access practical necessities for the experience. 10 May hosts a thrift market, encouraging sustainable shopping for a week in the desert.

Support art for peace at Burn Out Bizarre

Burn Out Bizarre acts as a fundraiser for The Peace Dragon art installation, taking place at Afrikaburn this year. The Peace Dragon is both a Peace Movement and a roaving artwork in the form of a giant white dragon. She flies twice a day to nestle next to a different artwork. Once she has landed, she curls into a “barrier to sound” creating an enhanced, quadrophonic listening experience for a variety of performances.

Peace Dragon Apparel have taken high-quality, overproduced cotton T-shirts and breathed new life into them, crafting a collection that is as bold, fiery, and legendary as the creatures that inspired it. These pieces will be debuted at the 22 March market.

Meanwhile, the 19 April fashion show, Runway to the Burn, at the Burn Out Bizarre, brings together local artists,
designers, and dreamers to create wearable masterpieces inspired by Afrikaburn’s 2025 theme, “Out of the Blue.” All proceeds will go to supporting the Peace Dragon movement.
