The Summer Renew Beginner Yoga Series at All About Yoga is a hands-on introduction to Vinyasa Flow. It is perfect for those who are completely new to yoga and is also a great way for seasoned yogis to renew and refresh their practice.
‘One of my most rewarding experiences as a teacher is running a Beginners Series,’ says All About Yoga founder and instructor Suzanne Atie. ‘We learn more about yoga, we move, we breathe and we grow together. As much as you learn from this new experience of yoga, I also learn from each and every student who walks through my doors.’
Suzanne will guide you gently through new concepts, yoga terms, movement, sequencing and breathwork. Her passion is on making you stronger and working on progressions as your practice grows. Suzanne’s classes are small and intimate allowing her to work to each student’s own level.
Sessions take place on Wednesday evenings over a five-week period to gradually reap the physical and mindfulness benefits that Vinyasa yoga brings.
All About Yoga
All About Yoga is a small boutique yoga studio in Cape Town that offers fun yoga classes with a focus on mindfulness, breath, and movement. The wellness space is owned and run by Suzanne Atie, a 500-hour trained yoga teacher.
This small Tamsboerskloof shala accommodates eight people only and therefore ensures personalised attention and a welcoming environment and community. Suzanne’s focus is on a slower, technical flow, combining various modalities for a unique yoga offering. Best of all, the first class is on the house.
The studio space is situated just off Kloof Nek Road which is easily accessible to all City Bowl areas as well as Camps Bay. The interior is beautiful and airy with amazing views of the City Bowl. Occasionally, you may even be lucky enough to experience one of Suzanne’s classes outdoors gazing at Table Mountain and Lion’s Head.
All about Suzanne
Suzanne Atie is a highly skilled and knowledgeable yoga practitioner with a 500hr Teacher Training certification. Her journey into yoga began in 2018 when she completed her initial 200hr teacher training under the guidance of Jim Harrington. In 2021, Suzanne’s passion for anatomy and evidence-based yoga led her to complete an additional 300hr Teacher Training program with Wellness Connection.
Her personal fascination with anatomy and movement is complemented by two decades of experience as a dancer. This rich background, combined with her training as a counsellor, results in yoga classes that offer a unique body-mind experience.
The teaching style at All About Yoga blends elements from Vinyasa, Iyengar, Forrest, and Synergy yoga traditions, resulting in a slow-paced, technically focused class that leaves participants feeling refreshed and deeply connected to their bodies. While Suzanne respects yoga’s historical roots and incorporates them into her classes, she warmly welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and spiritual beliefs.
Throughout the years, Suzanne’s motivation for practising yoga has evolved in tandem with her practice itself. What she cherishes most about yoga is its dynamic nature; it’s a continuous path of growth, exploration, and expansion, encompassing physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions.
Corporate Yoga in Cape Town
All About Yoga also offers corporate wellness yoga sessions in Cape Town. Having worked in the corporate arena for over a decade before deciding to take time off and focus on her family, Suzanne can relate to corporate stressors and stresses. The sessions can vary in style, duration, and intensity and are hosted on-site or virtual yoga classes tailored to the needs and schedules of the workforce. Here, the focus is on promoting physical and mental well-being, reducing stress, improving posture, and enhancing overall health among employees.
