Magical Ideas for a Magnificent Mother’s Day in Cape Town

Mother’s Day in Cape Town can be truly special, with the city’s iconic locations, restaurants and events tempting Capetonians to get out and treat the important maternal figures in their lives. From dancing horses to creative workshops, luxury high teas to unique wine tastings – we’ve found some inspiration for how to show the mother figure in your life just how much you appreciate her.

Mother’s Day, The V&A Way

This weekend, the V&A Waterfront is rewarding the moms in the city, whether she’s the main character, stylish, cultured, or (most likely) all of the above.

To help those struggling to make last-minute Mother’s Day plans, the V&A has made a quick-and-easy planner to ensure mom has a good time on her special day – complete with destinations, specials, and offers that suit her. Whether she’s bringing the energy to a memorable lunch at ROOI, looking for good deals on premium clothes, or would love a thought-provoking trip to Zeitz MOCAA, there’s a curated afternoon for every mom.

From 7-10 May, the V&A’s social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram post hints about daily giveaways: the first to find the Mother’s Day ambassador wins a special hamper from sought-after Waterfront brands. Finally, Vernon White is performing for free at the Amphitheatre on Sunday from 4.30pm, blending Afrikaans and Xhosa influences into soulful, upbeat melodies.
