2024 Orms X Canon Wonders Through Focus

The 2024 Orms X Canon ‘Wonders Through Focus’ Photographic Competition has some exciting news: this year’s winners and finalists have been announced, and the chosen images are a remarkable affirmation that South Africans have an incredible eye for photography.

This year’s theme, ‘Wonders Through Focus’, honed in on the magic stored in smaller details. Contestants were asked to look to the microcosms that can sometimes go unnoticed, and to pay attention to the beauty that can sometimes be missed by the human eye alone.

The winners of this competition are awarded a series of prizes valued at R100 000 from Canon, Orms, Orms Print Room & Framing, and Orms Cape Town School of Photography. They also got the chance to have their work placed along the walls of the iconic Sea Point Promenade: a fantastic chance for their work to be celebrated by the crowds of tourists and locals who make their way along the shore.

It’s no secret that the stature of this competition offers contestants the amazing opportunity to get their work out into the public eye, as well as access amazing opportunities that can transform their practices and careers.
