Scala Pasta/Bar is as it says on the tin, albeit lightyears from tinned ingredients. This spectacular restaurant creates pasta dishes by blending authentic Italian methods with a modern twist to create the unique concepts devised by Michelin-star Italian master chef, Luciano Monosilio.
With a key focus and emphasis on quality, the kitchen or, “Pasta Laboratory” as they put it, produces different types of fresh handmade pasta daily. And, by sourcing their ingredients from local producers, you can rest assured that the food is always seasonal and fresh with an added bonus of ethics.
In the trendy restaurant, it’s the rustic decor and soft lighting that creates a sense of intimacy, perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a lively gathering with friends.
One of the standout features of the Scala restaurant’s ambience is the open kitchen, which allows diners to watch the chefs in action as they prepare their meals, with the smell of fresh, homemade pasta in the air.
The smells and sounds of the dishes being prepared and rushed to tables add an element of excitement and energy to the dining experience, as guests can see the care and attention that goes into each dish.
The seating arrangements at Scala are also carefully thought out to create a comfortable and inviting environment. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, with a delightful courtyard ideal for al fresco dining on warm summer nights.
The attentive and friendly staff, from waiter to chef, provide excellent service without being intrusive. A prime example of this is the fact that the chefs are happy to accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions, ensuring that all guests feel welcome and well taken care of.
But it’s not just the ambience that makes Scala Restaurant so charming. It’s the food. The chefs at Scala are masters of their craft, using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients to create dishes that are bursting with flavour and creativity.
Upon arrival, guests can expect to receive complimentary bread and a Truffle Pasta Canapé Lollipop as they peruse the menu for their meal of choice. To ensure that the guests are well spoiled with deliciousness, the menus were designed by the Carbonara King, Luciano Monosilio in collaboration with the local team at Scala Pasta.
With a wide range, the menu offers a selection of modern Italian antipasti, tapas-style dishes and a selection of carefully crafted desserts. In addition, the daily specials board offers guests a seasonal selection of meat, poultry, seafood and vegetarian dishes. For added extravagance in flavour, the Josper Charcoal oven imported from Spain, allows Scala Pasta to produce spectacular sauces, vegetables and meat that will instigate salivation with ease.
It is worth mentioning that the signature dish, the Carbonara pasta, is a must-have as Luciano Monosilio is a world-renowned Michelin-star chef and as previously mentioned, has been dubbed the King of Carbonara.
Desserts certainly are something to rave over. Guests can expect a small display of theatrics when ordering the Tiramisu prepared with a flourish at their table. To bring the night to a close, guests receive the bill guests with a complimentary Panera (Semifreddo) dipped in melted chocolate.
Regarding drinks, the Aperitivo hour runs daily from 4pm – 5:30pm. Indulge in any of the three signature Negroni cocktails, perfectly harmonious with their budget-friendly Cicchetti menu. The pairing is widely considered the perfect pairing to start a great evening.
Another great special is the option to buy any 2 Cicchetti and receive a complimentary glass of Martini Prosecco, Fiero Spritz or Negroni Sbagliato.
