The cold weather doesn’t have to stop kids from playing outside and interacting with nature. Since 2016, Nature Plays Forest School has offered nature-based holiday programmes rooted in the Forest School ethos of child-led, play-based learning. They’re hosting a fun and educational Winter Holiday Club for kids aged 3 to 10 years old. Here’s what you need to know.
What to Expect at the Winter Holiday Club
The Winter Holiday Club at Nature Plays offers children aged 3-10 years old the chance to spend their days outdoors, exploring, creating, and connecting with the natural world, rain or shine.
No two days are the same! Guided by trained educators and following children’s interests, children engage in nature walks, fort building, wildlife discovery, storytelling, woodland crafts, balancing on ropes, and peaceful moments in hammocks.
The days are gently structured to encourage curiosity, play, collaboration, and a deep connection to nature.
The holiday club takes place in two locations in Cape Town – Constantia and Vredehoek.
Cost: Ages 3 – 5 years old – R370 to R450 per day, R1,750 to R2,150 per week | Ages 5 – 10 years old – R350 to R430 per day, R1,650 to R2,050 per week | Minimum booking of 2 days required, early-bird tickets available until 22 June 2025

Forest House by Nature Plays is a nature-based playgroup for children aged 3 to 5 years old, located in the heart of the Constantia Greenbelt. With direct access to the forest in a safe and secure setting, Forest House offers a child-led, play-based programme grounded in the Forest School and Reggio Emilia approach.
Through daily forest exploration, collaborative play, and gentle guidance, children are supported to become confident, creative thinkers with a deep sense of self and a lifelong love for learning.
The early years are foundational, and Forest House nurtures this phase with care, encouraging children to grow into resilient and confident kids. Enrolments for 2026 are now open. Mid-year enrollments are also accepted.
