You can’t go wrong with an afternoon tea in Cape Town this Mother’s Day. The Nellie is pretty much the standard if you’re looking for a beautifully presented menu of sandwiches, savoury creations, and fine patisserie.

Diners visiting on Mother’s Day will experience the first taste of resident pâtissier, Vicky Gurovich’s Afternoon Tea Menu. Expect new favourites such as Raspberry, litchi, rose eclair, chocolate roulade, Frangipane tartlets, and many more taking the art of pastry to new heights.

For an extra special touch, guests are greeted with a glass of Moët & Chandon bubbles to start this popular Cape Town pastime. Also if you forget to get mom a present, don’t panic – each mom will take home a gift bag with premium skincare products from Esse and Theranaka. Booking is essential for high tea and there are two seating times.

Oasis Bistro at Mount Nelson hotel is adding a special twist for Mother’s Day to their regular Sunday brunch where everything is taken care of. Start with a welcoming drink or cocktail whipped up at the Belvedere Vodka drinks trolley.

Dine on a buffet-style lunch experience with multiple courses crafted by the culinary team while the Buddy Wells Jazz Quartet set the mood for a lazy lunch. Think fresh oysters, local cheese boards, slivers of Sunday roast, a selection of vegetables, and a range of sweet treats to end. Guests have the option to add unlimited bubbly to their Sunday brunch experience. Choose between Boschendal Brut or Brut Rose.

There’s also a good excuse to take the little one along. Children can let loose at Mount Nelson’s supervised Kids Club indoor play space.
