MY SPACE TO CREATE
My Space to Create offers mosaic designs and T-shirt designs for kids’ parties. SCOOTOURS
Scootours consist of freewheeling down-hill runs on non-motorised push bikes. Originally used on the ski slopes of the Alps during the snow-free summer season, these Swiss-designed, easy-to-manoeuvre scooters are a safe and unique way for kids to have fun while exploring the outdoors.
All participants will receive riding instructions from friendly staff, as well as helmets and cycling gloves, and transport to the top of each run is included in the package.
There are birthday party options for kids 10 years and older, who will be able to ride their scooters. Parties for four-to-nine year-olds are an adventure for the whole family because parents will ride the scooter with their children. To qualify for birthday party rates, there needs to be a group of at least six people, and a free online invitation is included in each birthday party booking.
The tours end at Deer Park, and participants are encouraged to bring snacks and refreshments to enjoy a picnic afterwards. It’s also very close to some of Cape Town’s top beaches – another recommended option for winding down after the scooter trip.
The cost is R400 per person for drivers (10 Years and up), and R150 per person for four to nine-year-old passengers who have to double up with an adult. Rides are available in Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek.

MAMBA SANDBOARDING
Mamba Sandboarding specialises in kids’ sandboarding parties. As a family-run business, its core values are customer service, safety, affordability, protection of the environment and giving back to the local community.
Sandboarding is not only easy to learn but also a healthy way to exercise while having a lot of fun. Parties last for about two hours, and parents are welcome to come and watch or join in on the action. To start with, trained instructors will give everyone a basic lesson, after which they will supervise and help wherever they can. Boards cater for all sizes, and party-goers can choose stand-up or toboggan types, depending on their confidence level. For safety reasons, helmets, goggles and buffs are provided, and all supervisors are first-aid trained.
Gazebos are provided for shade, as well as tables and chairs for the spectators’ comfort, and cooler boxes can be transported onto the dunes in Mamba’s 4×4. Bring comfortable clothes (shorts and t-shirt), sun cream, hats, and plenty to drink. It is recommended to book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

CANDLE AVENUE
For some creative entertainment, consider a candle party by Candle Avenue. Candles can be decorated in seven different colours of wax, and there are different themes to choose from, such as ‘Alice in Wonderland or ‘Secret Garden’, or even an ‘Army Party’.
Lasting for two hours, Candle Avenue will host the entire party for you at their exclusive venue in Durbanville or the team can arrange to host the party at the birthday girl or boy’s home. To start with, guests receive a welcome drink – fizzy drinks during summer and hot chocolate during winter – before everyone sits down on their mushroom chairs for some “lip-smacking sweets” while the candle-dipping process is explained. Candles are made to be taken home, and there are options for extra activities too, such as drawing a story on Candle Avenue’s cloudy blackboards. To make sure the memories can be treasured for a long time and show how proud the kids are of their creations, all the action is photographed, which is included in the price.
Time slots are from 2.30pm to 4.30pm on Fridays, and 9am to 11am or 12pm to 2pm on Saturdays. Bookings can be made for kids aged five and above, for a group of at least 10 kids and not more than 15.

SUP CAPE TOWN
Apart from providing introductory lessons in Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding and renting outboards, SUP Cape Town also entertains kids’ parties.
