Woodstock Laundry specialises in “slow clothes”: made properly and carefully by hand.
The garments are light yet substantial, warm but breathable, cool but timeless. Local artists and designers are commissioned to create the unique print designs, which are printed on premium organic cotton.
They’re artisinally hand-crafted with the environment in mind and each bespoke item is designed in house to be as comfortable as humanly possible. Woodstock Laundry’s sleepwear is not only for sleeping in but living in. "These are clothes you hang out in, and with," they say. The labels are specifically made to fray and fade or are easily removed because the feel of the clothing is more important than the name.
The factory employs over 15 local seamstresses and artisans in Woodstock, Cape Town. Woodstock Laundry prides itself on fair wages and decent working conditions, a standard borne out by the fact that some of their employees have been with them for over 20 years.
