A long-established bicycle repair and refurbishment workshop now based in Observatory, Woodstock Cycleworks has built a following for its meticulous maintenance and open approach to community cycling culture. The shop combines a workshop, parts exchange and sales floor, offering both new and restored bicycles alongside extensive second-hand components.
Services extend from routine maintenance to complete restorations, with an emphasis on craftsmanship and resource reuse. Stock includes commuter, mountain, touring and road models, as well as select custom and vintage pieces. Film shoot rentals and a buy‑back programme supplement daily trading, reflecting the workshop’s diverse clientele and reuse philosophy.
Founded by Nils and Suzanne Hansen, the operation maintains an informal, highly knowledgeable team presence and draws cyclists from across Cape Town for repairs, upgrades and advice. Participation in regional cycling events and collaborations with artisans in related trades add to its reputation as a hub for enthusiasts interested in mechanical and cultural aspects of cycling.
