WOMAD Global Sounds is a free outdoor music event at the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre, presented under the banner of WOMAD, the World of Music, Arts and Dance, the global festival network founded in 1980 by musician Peter Gabriel, Bob Hewison and Thomas Brooman. WOMAD festivals and events take place across multiple countries, with the flagship UK edition having run at Charlton Park for many years before relocating to Neston Park in Wiltshire in 2026. In South Africa, previous WOMAD-branded events have taken place in Johannesburg at the Market Theatre Precinct.
WOMAD Global Sounds at the V&A Waterfront presents a programme of world music performers and global rhythms. A linked family event, WOMAD Kidz 4 Kulture Day, takes place at the same venue three days later on 27 September 2026.
