The James Sedgwick Distillery in Wellington is proud to be the only commercial whisky distillery in Africa. Visitors can witness first-hand how the whiskies are crafted through the various stages from raw material to distillation and maturation. The Distillery offers tours and tastings.
Join us for intimate tours on selected Fridays and Saturdays at 10h00 and 14h00. Allowing 20 guests at a time, the tour starts with a welcome drink and introduction to the distillery followed by a tour of the entire whisky making operation – from raw materials all the way to the maturation cellars. The day’s experience concludes with a whisky tasting and the opportunity to purchase the whiskies of your choice.
Bespoke whisky and sample dish pairings include crisp apple chips, smoked beef, smoked salmon or snoek, and sweet pairings of 70% dark chocolate mousse and pumpkin pie expertly paired with Bain’s, Three Ships Whisky Bourbon Cask Finish, and Three Ships Whisky 5 Year Old Premium Select. Each food paring perfectly fits the distinctive flavour profiles of the whiskies.
