Event information
Welgevonden Private Game Reserve consists of 37 000 hectares of diverse landscapes and is less than three hours north of Johannesburg,
Easily accessible from the city, when visiting the reserve, there is a limit on vehicles, so it’s possible for visitors to get close to wildlife without too many other cars around. Home to over 50 different mammals including the Big 5, the reserve has numerous rare animals such as the kudu, giraffe, zebra, warthog, cheetah, brown hyena, the honey badger, close to 300 different bird species and many more to see.
Found in the Waterberg plateau, Welgevonden borders with Marakele National Park and is a stone’s throw from Nylsvlei Wetlands. The Waterberg itself has a rich human history, as evidenced by two San rock paintings dating back hundreds or even thousands of years that are found within Welgevonden.
