The brand-new Waterfront Duck lets its passengers experience the highlights of Cape Town by bus and boat in the same 40-seater amphibious vehicle – an awesome adventure for the whole family.
Throughout the tour the “ConDUCKtors” give passengers a glimpse of the City’s rich and colourful history with facts, stories and interesting snippets designed to entertain and educate everyone from history-buffs to fun-loving kids. The tour departs from the Waterfront, passing the new Cape Town Stadium and winding along the Atlantic Seaboard to take in some famous landmarks and scenic views before heading back to the harbour area.
From there, the vehicle leaves land and splashes into the water near the Cape Grace Hotel for a cruise around the V&A Marina and Harbour. Along the route, passengers learn about the history and modern workings of the harbour, and see and learn about the marine-life and ecology of the area before heading back to where the tour started from.
The Waterfront Duck Company Tours depart from the Duck Stop Ticket Kiosk at the Silo Hotel precinct at the V&A Waterfront. There are multiple tours per day, and depending on weather and time of the year, tours last approximately 1½ hrs.
During the start-up phase, the passenger capacity is restricted to 12 people total. This will change to 36 passengers as soon as the tour is fully certified.
