Wallendair provides paragliding flights for passengers, courses for pilots and a variety of other services related to paragliding in Cape Town.
For absolute beginners, Wallendair provides a tandem paragliding flight with a fully qualified pilot to provide a feel for the paragliding experience. The tandem glider is specifically designed for two people. The passenger or student is strapped into the harness in front of the tandem pilot and all pilots are SAHPA certified and TFI (Tandem Flight Instructor) licensed. The most popular launch site is off Signal Hill in Cape Town.
For people who want to qualify to fly their own Paraglider there is a 2 day Introductory course at The Wilderness in the Cape that offers a slow progression from ground handling, dune hopping and ground skimming to taking flights from higher take off sites. After this basic licence course there is a further seven day programme covering different sites and conditions like Cape Town's Lion’s Head, Porterville, Picketberg and Hermanus. This extended course gives access to a SAHPA certification.
