The Test Kitchen - an award-winning venture from chef Luke Dale Roberts (LDR) - is a platform that enables people who previously had no access to the hospitality industry to potentially forge a new career.
While being employed full time, chefs receive a salary as they are continually upskilled through on-the-job training. The aim is for the young chefs to grow and be incorporated into one of the LDR restaurants or other establishments.
Mentor chefs and front of house staff from the LDR restaurants work alongside the fledglings. Either Luke Dale Roberts and/or Head Chef Nathan Clarke, are in the kitchen teaching new skills or improving techniques daily. Guests are invited to see the mentors and their students create and explore new possibilities.
A deposit is required to reserve tables.
