Event information
The restaurant at Nederburg's historic Manor House offers a warm winter menu to beat the winter chills.
Head chef Linda Trautmann has created a line-up of dishes that the whole family will love, with modern South African flair and a touch of luxurious indulgence fit for the season.
The winter breakfast menu gets any day off to a sensational start with choices ranging from the mouth-watering 'The Manor traditional breakfast' (also available as a mini version) and a variety of breakfast bowls, to caramelised chocolate oats, and delicious French toast options. Kids’ breakfasts are also available.
The winter à la carte lunch menu features dishes made from ingredients sourced from the estate's very own salad crops, vegetables, and trout, to show the pristine quality and wholesomeness of the farm’s locally cultivated farm produce. Heritage ingredients get a modern interpretation with dishes like biltong-spiced beef strips, Cape Malay lamb samosas with a light yoghurt dressing, boerewors-stuffed chicken fillet with brandy cream sauce, as well as rooibos chai crème brûlée & biscotti, and Amarula chocolate pudding with whipped cream. There are some meat-free options, as well as generous snack platters and a variety of sandwiches. Chef Linda and the winemaking team’s expert wine pairing suggestions elevate each dish to superlative enjoyment level.
There are also blackboard specials that offer superb value. The months of August, September and October will showcase Nederburg’s famous Baronne (Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz blend), which is celebrating its 50th year this year, alongside a beef burger (at R165 pp), or classic beef Bourguignon (at R195 pp).
The Manor Restaurant’s delightful winter picnic menu caters for meat eaters and vegetarians alike and includes a bottle of wine from the award-winning The Winemasters collection.
Kids’ experiences are also on offer (subject to availability and/or prior booking), and include fun activities such as cupcake decoration, a hot milk and cookie pairing, kids’ picnic and party boxes. Add lawn games, a jungle gym, tree house, swings and more to the mix, and you’re all set to keep the young ones entertained.
Whatever the occasion, mood or craving, the winter offering at The Manor Restaurant will leave no guest wanting for more.
