Event information
The Ladder Traditional Arts Studio was established by Nicholas and Anastasia Esterhuizen and is a team of artists, chefs, and latte experts. The studio has the goal of nurturing an appreciation of traditional arts and craftsmanship, and serving great Artisan Blue Door Coffee from the beautiful in-house cafe. Here guests can enjoy all-day breakfast options and light lunches in anticipation of art exhibitions, artist visits or workshops.
The Cape Town studio offers unique workshops based on traditional methods that may be hard to find anywhere else in the country. The Macrame Weaving Workshop is led by Brittany Stroebel who teaches how to make elegant Macrame plant hangers for your home using rope knotting techniques. The punch needling hobby has become popular in recent years, and now The Ladder hosts their first Punch Needle Workshop which will give an introduction to the punch needle technique. Guests leave with a finished piece and a desire to create many more.
