The details

The Cape Wheel is a giant observation wheel that offers a 360-degree panoramic view of Cape Town. Catch sight of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Cape Town City skyline, the Paarl Mountains, and the DHL Cape Town Stadium from the wheel.

The cabins are fully enclosed and air-conditioned. Passengers are taken 40 metres above the ground on the 12-15 minute, four-revolution ride. The wheel also offers two wheelchair-friendly cabins.

The VIP Gondola takes 4 adults and has leather seats, a glass floor and music and a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and/or appletizer for a non-alcoholic option. This must be booked in advance by emailing your desired date and time.

There are several different specials on offer at different times of the year. Bookings are necessary for specials.

No booking in advance is required for standard rides.

Birthday Specials:

Visitors can sign up to the Cape Wheel’s birthday club and receive a complimentary ride in their birthday month. Simply fill in a form and on your birthday you will get a birthday voucher via email valid for 30 days. Take a the voucher a printout and your ID to the ticket booth and enjoy your free Cape Wheel ride at V&A Waterfront.
