Run by the Tait family for two decades, this hundred year old cafe is one of Cape Town's best little live music venues.
Richard and Retha Tait and their son Jono are all musical souls, and stalwarts of the Cape Town music scene. The stage at the cafe stretches along one wall, with guests cramming onto long tables to the degree that they have to pass Retha's homemade bobotie, lasagna, honey-mustard chicken along from one end to the other.
Performers on this stage include luminaries such as Steve Newman, Tony Cox, Wendy Oldfield, Ard Matthews, Albert Frost, Arno Carstens, Nibs van der Spuy, Laudo Liebenberg, Robin Auld, Reza Khota and many others.
Wednesday nights are a walk in, no cover charge Burger ‘n Beer evening with 2 or 3 bands playing.
