The African Art Workshop is a painting experience and history lesson led by Tozamile Mnapu. Tozamile Mnapu is an artist from Langa who experiments with wire crafting, clay, wood carving and drawing, but is focused on painting.
The artist loves sharing his art knowledge and invites artists and visitors to take part in his African Art Workshop in his studio in Langa. Here he shares his personal journey as an artist as well as his techniques and stories about African art history.
Tozamile has been selling his work in markets for the past 12 years. He has been leading community art workshops with local kids and tourists for the last 2 years. In the African Art Workshop, visitors are welcomed into his art studio where they can choose which type of painting they would like to do. He shares his methods, while giving guests the freedom to use the wide range of colours, brushes and other materials provided for them in the workshop to create their own masterpiece.
Drinks and equipment are included and a booking must be made. The workshop lasts up to three hours after which guests can take their artworks home with them.
