Event information
The 48-hour Film Project is an opportunity for film-lovers of all types, from enthusiasts and amateurs to professionals, to gather teammates, friends, colleagues or family for the city's biggest filmmaking challenge.
Participating teams must write, shoot, and edit a short film of up to seven minutes based on a genre drawn at The Kickoff and the required genre, character, prop, and line assigned for their film. All films receive a local screening, and films submitted within the stipulated time are eligible for prizes, including Best Directing, Best Acting, Best Film, and Audience Award.
The winner of Best Film goes to Filmapalooza and is eligible for a spot at 48 Hours' screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. This is an opportunity for participants to try something new and level up their filmmaking.
