Rust-en-Vrede Gallery and Clay Museum in Durbanville presents the South African debut of TazzinArt, an international ceramics exhibition built around the espresso cup. More than 90 artist-designed cups by 44 artists from South Africa, Italy and Mexico are on display, curated by Donovan Mynhardt, Monica Monaia and Lorenzo Fiorucci.
The exhibition began in 2024 in Città di Castello, Italy, marking the region's ceramic heritage, and has since expanded internationally. Participating artists include Andile Dyalvane, Pamela Thobile Mavuso and Paolo Canevari, among many others working across ceramic and visual art disciplines. The show frames the shared ritual of coffee-drinking as a starting point for dialogue across culture, language and background. TazzinArt is next scheduled to travel to Mexico City in 2027.
