The inaugural Sunbet Padel Invitational gives everyday padel enthusiasts and teams the opportunity to compete alongside South African sports icons and celebrities in a spirited intermediate and advanced showdown over two days.
A first of its kind in South Africa, the event offers an exciting blend of sport, celebrity interaction, and corporate engagement. Celebrities that have confirmed their participation include Ashwell Prince, Stanton Fredericks, Charl McLoed, Rupert Kaminski, Schalk Brits, Mika Abrahams, Siv Ngesi, Mark Fish, Jonathan Boyton-Lee, Vernon Philander, Morné Steyn, Amandla Dlamini, Rudy Paige, and more.
There are various packages available for those wishing to participate. The Gold Package for a team includes two days of play, kits, high tea during times of the tournament, a beer and ciders bar, and players lounge access. The Platinum Package includes all the same perks as well as a padel racquet and padel shoes.
The event was founded by media personality Kriya Gangiah in collaboration with Sunbet and is being hosted by Time Square at Africa Padel Brooklyn in Pretoria, with plans to extend the event across South Africa’s top holiday destinations.
